D7100 to D800 & Noise

i am doing more & more work indoors in darker situations where i am finding i am having to push the iso to 1000 or thereabouts as i need to be hand holding the camera, My current D7100 is giving me some awful noise in the darker areas of each photo.

My question is would i notice a big difference if i bought a D800 ? would this handle noise a lot better or would it be about on par, I do realise i can use noise reduction software or in LR to help my cause

i dont particular need full frame camera, maybe it would be good to have one, i am more interested in reducing noise & being able to push the iso up without having to worry to much,

I have the D800 and I tend to be perfectly happy with noise up to ISO 3200, some may say that the 24mp full frame bodies like the D600/D610 and D750 are better at higher ISO's than the D800 but I could never see much difference. I've never had the D7100 but I did have the D7000 and the D800 is miles ahead in low noise.
 
I just swapped from a d7100 to a d600! First shoot was a strongman contest! I pushed and pushed the ISO to 6400 ISO And was still getting crisp sharp images with the 24-85 kit lens! I was amazed

For low light high ISO get away from crop sensor! You won't regret it!
 
Was using a D7100 recently for a couple of months while Nikon sorted the flare issue on the D750. For me you cant compare the ISO, with the D7100 I didn't like going over ISO1000, with the D750 I'm happy going to ISO3200
