So I've got the D7200 and I've decided that I need a better walk about/ general lens. At the moment I've got a 18-300 and it's good for the versatility but image IQ isn't as good as I want. So I've been looking at the new 16-80 which fits the bill but very pricy. So how about the 16-85? Is that good enough on a 24mp sensor. Should I look at a FX lens 24-whatever? I have a Tokina 11-16 for the extremely wide end so maybe the FX lens would be ok? I've already got the kit 18-55 from a D5200 but I presume I'll see an improvement on that with any of my options.

IQ is number one priority, so if the 16-80 is way better than the 16-85 then I'll get it.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

I should mention, I'm going to get a Tamron 150-600 so very long end not important.

24-120 f4 works well for me on the D810 and D7200 :)

Thanks for your reply.

The only trouble with the 24-120 is its nearly the same price as the 16-80 so I may as well get that.

Anybody using the 18-65 on a d7200?

potentially the new 16-80 could be great, I would hold of until more reviews come in. get a 35mm 1.8 to help the gas:D and wait on reviews
