Not sure what you mean by this, isn't yours off anyway unless you press menu, playback, info or live view for which you need the rear screen as you couldn't use these functions without it?Doesn't seem to offer a lot for me. Mainly video orientated from what I've read. The stuff we want sorting they just ignore.
I want to be able to turn the rear screen off completely!!

And wipes out your night vision when it comes on. My biggest gripe about this camera. I'm out in the dark and want it to stay dark but with the rear screen coming on it's like someone shining a torch in your face.
