D80 repair help

The buttons to the left of the screen on my Nikon D80 have stopped working. when pressed the battery icon blinks. The camera still works, autcocuses etc. but I cant preview the screen, get at the menu or iso. Anyone any ideas. I had the lead in to view pictures on the computer. I removed it from the computer and still had the lead connected to the camera. I tried to view the pictures but it didn't work. I took out the lead but still didn't work. i have tried two seperate fully charged batteries but no joy. Anyone know if there is a fuse or a seperate small battery.
 
The + quality button with the green dot is one of the buttons that dosn't work. I think there may have been a short.
