D80 to D90 : Is it worth it?

Just out of interest, would it be worth it to upgrade from a D80 to a D90? I reckon I could get about £300+ for my D80 which is in good condition, and then with the £250 or so I have spare in my bank, I could buy a D90 body new on eBay. So my question is, would it be worth it? I'm quite interested in trying some video shooting - my tripod head is designed for easy panning xD

Thanks, Tom.

EDIT: Looking at prices I'm tempted to save up for a D300s :3

I made that step, in hindsight i would have got a d700.

Dont get me wrong the d90 is a cracking camera and has brought my photography on no end but i would go min 300s.

As for video, after the first week you will soon use it as a camera again!

What's the video recording like on the D90? I'd *love* to try shooting some wildlife with my 70-300mm VR, or recording an interview or something with my 50mm f1.8 AI lens :)

D90 is a cracking camera! Between the D90 and D300 I would go straight D700, to me it wouldn't justify getting the d300, regarding the video recording, If you're not wobbling the camera around it's fine.

It's a fair leap, moneywise, from a D90 to a D700.....

Well I've posted an ad for my D80 on gumtree...Compared to eBay, it means I'm not committed to selling it :) Any other comments on the video recording with the D90?

What I meant was that the D90 and D300 are quite similar, If you don't really need the better build quality, better AF of the D300(in no way I'm saying the D90 is bad) go for the D90...Yea maybe I shouldn't have brought the D700 into this, I was basing that on already owning a D90...

The D90 must be up for replacement in the next few months. Why not wait a bit to either get a good price on a D90 as prices fall or get its replacement.

D90 has much better high iso performance than D8o. I can really see the difference as people bring both cameras along and the D90 is streets ahead at 800 iso and probably at 400 too. I reckon the D90 is the best £550 body out there at the mo.
I'm the last one to suggest spending money on gear but I think it would be a good move.

John

P.s. You might get an extended warranty as well from someone like Camerabox for your £550.
