D800 Sample files (mine).
Due to a very unfortunate accident recently where I fell in the lake with my beloved (D700 and 24-70 2.8), I tried to replace the camera on Friday following the insurance settlement.
Unable to find a D700 locally anywhere, I had to make do with a D800 from Jessops. (I know there are a lot of Jessops-knockers, but they were absolutely fantastic at the Llandudno branch).
I went out to try the camera yesterday, pics are nothing special but I am amazed! Depth of colour and detail is fantastic, can't wait now to take some proper shots with it.
Downloaded the files via Nikon Transfer last night, but initially was disappointed with the files, which appeared to be about 1600 x 1000 ish in size. I then googled it and found that Transfer 1 only renders the in-file jpg's, to download the nef files you need to upgrade to nikon transfer 2. That will teach me to R the FM
or use the software provided on the CD.
Here are links on dropbox to three files for you to play with - as stated, nothing special, but just look how much the seagull can be blown up (probably a good option!).
Let me know what you think, but I was impressed.
Files now deleted to free space on dropbox - they were obviously too large to download. If anyone wants a D800 file to play with, pm me.
NOTE: it appears that the dropbox folder may take some time to update as these are large files.
