I am on the verge of getting a D800 but a number of things are are stopping me from biting the bullet and going ahead with it...

The focus issue and whether or not it's been resolved.

The green tint to the screen at the back was this fixed?

I know it's not going to be much different than the D700 IQ wise bar resolution. Any D700 > D800 users able to give me their experiences?

I believe the tint issue on the rear monitor was resolved with the last firmware update (?).
 
I bought mine in September and it has neither issue. The firmware is up to date. B 1.01 [I think] Can double check later on the camera. You can check this by switching the cam on and heading to the firmware version in the menu. They should allow you do this before buying in a store, there's always a bit of charge in the battery. If buying online, no way of knowing really.

easy update if you need to do it, but my second bought online in November is on current firmware
