D800 ? with a difference.

Is there anything available that will remotely trigger the video mode on the D800?

Try searching for "d800 video remote control".

I found a couple of hits that say the G4 menu option can be set to enable the shutter release to start and stop video recording while in LiveView. Using a wireless remote you should be able to do this remotely.

One guy was using a Pocket Wizard, but others should also work (I think).

Seems that the remote works for video start and stop, but won`t take the body out of live view, which is understandable considering how it works.
