Beginner D810 help - can only get one autofocus point

Guys,

I've just got a D810 and I'm struggling with the focus points. I can cycle through them by hitting the focus mode selector and cycling through using the front wheel. However, although I can select 51 points etc I can only see one block through the viewfinder in the centre. How do I get it so I can select a larger autofocus area?

I think I'm looking for dynamic area...still can't find it though.

The only time it displays more than one AF point is in group mode.

press the AF selection button of the front left side (looking from back as in use). Turn the front selection dial on the rt side.
