Hi any idea what could be wrong just got new Nikon d850 came with kit lens 24 120 put it together but when I tried to adjust the aperture couldn't it just showed a zero were the reading should be tried a different lens still the same played about a bit suddenly started to work quick look in manual found nothing yet

I would think that one of the electrical contacts between the camera and lens was not making contact initially. Changing lenses and manipulating the lens has now got the contacts making good contact.
