I'm looking at getting a battery grip for my D90 but do I go for the Nikon version or a third party.
There seems to be quite a difference in price.
 
Interested in this myself. Got a feeling that I would probably prefer the Nikon one.
 
ebay have copies around the £50 mark - A used Nikon I was bidding on is up for £102 with a few hours left.
 
The genuine Nikon ones are selling on eBay for £100+!!! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I forgot I own one of these (I know, how do you forget right!). I'll have one on here as soon as I get my post count up to 100.

For the relatively small difference in price I would go with the genuine Nikon one every time, when I looked at these (about a year ago), the build quality was far superior than any of the copies I looked at. Just my opinion, but there you have it.
 
Certainly the ones from linkdelight on ebay are very very similar to the nikon one, it's not so much that the copies are well made as the official nikon ones are pretty poorly made compared to the rest of their gear - seeing as the copies are about £43 shipped for just the grip, or add £15 or so for another 2 batteries, I'd (and have, twice) gone for the unofficial ones over the nikon ones, even second hand. (and I have used an official nikon one too, borrowing a mate's.)

Just make sure you get the linkdelight, or if buying from other suppliers, 'pro' version, which has the aperture and shutter speed wheels, there are 'budget' ones for about a tenner less that don't have these, which would just annoy me tbh.

Alot of people say they were disappointed with the quality of the Nikon one, so the third party one will do.
 
The link delight one arrived today and I must admit the quality is superb, it even has the same rubber texture on the palm. Both commander dials are snappy and the AE-L/F button fits under my thumb nicely, this button is a little recessed but it's still very usable. Couple that with two spare batterys and a AA holder and for £54 it was a great the little deal.
Very happy with it.
