Yes
Quick question guys....you need to press 'info' to display the exposure info...but can this go on automatically when you start the camera?
Was assuming not as a lot of the same info is on the top lcd?
Just curious, checked manual and couldnt see anything. Almost need 'auto info at startup' type option lol
Cheers.

Ahhh ha. I think you have got too used to using the rear screen on the d3000. I was the same when I moved to d300. Kept staring at a blank screen to check settings!

I don't think there is a way of leaving it on but you'll probably find that you don't care in a few days or so once used to the top lcd.

You can also have the on/off switch turn the top lcd light on and bring up info on rear screen at same time as well.Dont think you can have it on permanently.

Yeah cheers guys. My first silly question on d90's out of the way then. As you were.
:)
Yeah i am used to it on the back, but getting used to the top display more. Did notice the light settings just a little while back. Still doubt i'll ever use live view (or vid - iphone always handy)
Like the focus lock idea as well (i used to change the focus point loads on the 3000 without realising)
The missus is already fed up with me playing with the new toy :) bought a magic lantern guide as well so see how that goes....
Cheers

D9 i had already set to 'on' and assumed was top lcd only (does illuminate top) as the back still needs 'info' pressed as it stands....hmmmm

Ah I misunderstood, sorry, I meant for the top display.

Be careful you're not trying to turn it into your D3000 though... Everything you need is on the top LCD. Unlearn you must!

No worries, i didnt explain very well.
Yeah, quite liking using the top anyway, soon break all those little habits :)
Cheers.

Ah cool, thats close on enough to it going with the 'on' button :)
Reckon i'll leave it off now anyway - get used to the top (after all that :)
Ok - everyone can put their d90 away now lol
Thanks all.
