d90 grip???

I've got a MB-D80 on my D90, it's been the best thing i've bought for my camera, i never take it off.

it gives the camera an extra shutter button on the side for taking portrait shots and it balances the unit better by providing more weight :)

power failure problem?????? do go on...

Okay, there's a fairly well documented problem using the MB-D80 on the D90 body - doesn't happen all the time or even with every body (but did with mine) and doesn't happen with the D80 either . Fortunately the cure is very simple

If you have this problem then you'll find that when you fit the grip to the body the camera won't power up. Loosening the securing screw will result in the camera powering up but with a loose grip :bang:

The problem is that the middle of the three battery contacts in the grip and body are mis-aligned. You should see this is if you look at the corresponding contact pad in the grip - the two outside ones will have marks showing where the body contacts (fairly large, spring loaded, pointed contacts) have pressed against them. The middle one will have its mark slightly off the contact pad.

To correct the problem simply bend the body contact slightly so that it makes a good contact with the grip ... simples!
