D90 With M42 Lenses Advice Needed

I am considering changing my venerable Canon 350D and am considering jumping ship (well returning to what was my ship years ago) by investing in a Nikon D90.I do however have a fair number of M42 prime lenses that I can use on the Canon with an adapter and meter (Stop Down) in Manual and Aperture Priority.I appreciate I wiull need more complex adapters to fit these to the D90 but will I still be able to meter in manual and AP as I currently do.

Only the D200 , D300 and above will meter with M42 or other manual non cpu lenses.
