Hi all,

How do I unlock the quick release plate? I've undone the thumbwheel and pressed the silver button but still can't get the plate released? I assumed as I unlocked it, the locking part would also move out but it stays rigid. Am i doing it wrong?

As you unscrew the knob, the jaws of the clamp should open. When you open them partway, the plate can slide out sideways; when you open them all the way, the plate can lift out upwards.

If you are turning the knob and the jaws of the clamp are not moving, something is broken.

Was the plate in the clamp when you got it?
 
Yes, plate was in clamp. The clamp doesn't move an inch as I unscrew it. Stays rock solid. Looks like I will need to return. Will call them in the morning.
