Damaged Sigma 70-300 worthless?

Hi, my Sigma 70-300 Sony fit lens stopped auto focusing a while ago , it also makes a noise when you turn the camera on. I know this is a fairly common thing with these lenses on Sony cameras. My question is do you think the lens in its current condition has any resale value on ebay or should I just bin it ? Opinions please? Thanks
 
eBay is crazy. Stick it up at 99p and see what happens.

If I recall the Sony camera motors are too powerful and strip the gears in the lenses, so it won't be a cheap repair, but some loon might think its worth it.
 
Thanks for the reply Tom. I think your right there are some weird things that sell on the bay. I might give it a try when they have a free listing day and see what happens. Thanks again. johnjess
