After the recent 'Want Vs Need' threads where I cheerfully stated I have no need to upgrade any of my current lens line-up...

My successor arrived yesterday and has the new Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR-II...


And it's SO much nicer than my VR-I variant, which feels positively flimsy by comparison...:shake:

The VR-II feels more like the old AF-S 80-200 f2.8:

Which was a proper bomb-proof monster of a lens...

...and I see they've now dropped to £1600 or thereabouts on WEx...:D

mannnn, I love my 80-200 af-s, could use it to smash heads, and then do the forensic photography of the scene straight away...


you won't need the bomb-proofness now that you're doing a rockwell and shooting your growing family ;) I'd suggest this, just look how excited it is!:

Photokina the week after next - might have to pay a visit to the Nikon stand and see if they can offer any deals...
