D200 with nifty 50, reverse ring and extension tubes!!! No cropping at all.

50mm+reverse ring;

+small part of extension tubes;

+half of extension tubes;

+all extension tubes!! (and obviously daft focal plane) ;

this was great fun...i love my new garden

Wow these are really good what are reverse ring and extension tubes and where would you use them i have a nifty fifty but it never entered my head to use it on something like this

(not the most technical explanation ever, but) a reverse ring basically allows the lens to be mounted backwards on the camera (it screws onto the filter threads) which increases magnification considerably. Extension tubes seat the lens further away from the camera body, increasing magnification even more....it's a very cheap alternative to buying a dedicated macro lens (although I would still love that 180mm sigma!)
