Stephen I totally agree with your disjointed approach statement. We are quite happy to take what ever financial benefits we can from the popularity of our beauty spots, but reluctant to use some of that money to invest in measures to protect it. I am not sure of this location as I haven't been there before, but if it were considered so important, perhaps a bypass or restrictions on traffic would be useful.

However, as an aside, like other tree lined roads built around the countryside, you could find that due to poor ground, the trees were planted at the time the road was constructed as foundations for the road.
