Yes
Went out tonight in clear skies and seemed to waste loads of time and didn't get one shot that I'm proud of, all because I hadn't actually planned what I was going to do. I feel gutted.

So my question is this:
When you are going out for some night togging what do you plan beforehand, what kit do you take and are there any tips you'd like to share?

Thanks in advance all,
A determined to do better Pip...

*snigger* night togging indeed :p

Personally I stop after dusk if I'm trying to get sky into the shot. I don't like black voidy looking sky.

Fair points from both of you, but I really like some of the night shots I've seen on here. Seem to remember some crackers from Edinburgh Gary recently amongst others.
As you say FB, all part of the curve...!

I dunno, there is always stuff hidden in that black, try leaving the shutter open for longer...

I dont like city scapes at night with big black skies but a little earlier when they are golden or a deep blue are really nice.

I do like taking shots against a black sky when getting up close to a building though.
