The TP52 - 2026 Darkslinger's 52 for 26

Good set Bill, and picked the best shot imo. Did she/they ask for a copy?

Your chosen shot fits the bill, the lights could be stars too!

Nice set of shots - I particularly like the geometries in the last one!
This is a art installation on the edge of the plaza behind the Vancouver Art Gallery. I can't tell you how many times I've shot it or used it as a backdrop for something. Always a go-to location when I'm downtown.
Also - love the set of images for daily life - some great shots there.

Thanks Phil!

Fab set Bill and you selected the right one :)
Thanks Dave

Thanks Wayne, not sure what happened with your comment there... :p
A great set Bill
Thank you Paul
Nice selection Bill. Always on point!
Thanks Simon

Thanks Keith, to be honest I didn't even think of asking...usually when I shot a scene, I'm looking at how some static element interacts with the light, and people are just added interest...

Thanks Nick!

Week 14 Snappy, Snapperness

I wasn't able to get out to the city this week so I thought that I'd shoot some random plant life from my walks with our dog

Love this fab set. No1 for me ta :)

Good set Bill, especially like the last shot - contrast against the fence and the flower heading for the light :)

Thanks Dave, I almost used that one as my choice to post.
Good set Bill, especially like the last shot - contrast against the fence and the flower heading for the light :)
Thanks Keith, the perennial clematis that drapes over my backyard fence.

So many Nice shots there Bill, great compositions there. Your selected "a study in green" is rather special.

A great set, as ever Bill, but a distinctly different feel to these. Super work!

Thanks Paul, yeah, I thought that I'd do something a little different :)
Good set Bill #1 for me but all good.
Thanks Simon, the fern caught my eye as I was walking my dog.

Week 15 Morning Ritual

So I thought that I'd take some shots of the things that I use as part of my morning rituals, with an eye to the abstract.

My electric razor

Week 15 - Morning Rituals 1.jpg

The yoga mat (not to do yoga, just some stretching)

Week 15 - Morning Rituals 2.jpg

Toothbrush...of course...

Week 15 - Morning Rituals 3.jpg

One of my V60 filter holders, it's actually dark green plastic (looks like a vortex to me

My other V60 filter holder, white porcelain

The brown filter that I use, backlit

I like the abstract feel of your chosen shot. It's a strong image.

Cracking Images as always Bill

Really interesting abstract image there - the V60 filter holder is my favourite.

Interesting set Bill :)
Thanks Dave.
Great set, and I love your "entrance to the wormhole"!
LOL, it turned out much different then I thought it would.
Cracking set Bill. Love the razor
Thanks you Simon!

Good sert of images and I really like the abstract nature of your chosen shot.
Thanks Kell, yeah, I was happy with how it (unexpectedly) turned out.
Really interesting abstract image there - the V60 filter holder is my favourite.
Thanks Phil
Great set and good interpretation for the theme
Thank you Alan

Week 16 Monuments

So, I wasn't too engaged with this theme (too restrictive) but there is a monument near our Seabus terminal called the Angel of Victory and since I was meeting someone nearby I thought that I do a little photographic study of it.

This is a three shot HDR with the focus on the hand of the soldier, I mostly like it except for the little bit of fringing on the face and shoulder

From a little bit further back

And from the front

I think it’s been a tough challenge to try and take a pic of something which isn’t just a monument.

So for me, the challenge was ‘how do I shoot it differently?’

I think your chosen shot absolutely answers that and I like both the processing and POV.

The inclusion of the building makes it look like there’s more of a story there too.

Thanks Dominic
Another fine set Bill!
Thanks you Simon.

Week 17 Perspective of the Unexpected Kind

So I think of this challenge in two ways
1. Shots that are taken from an unusual POV and/or
2. Shots of unexpected things, compositions, etc.

I generally like to shot from a low perspective, like these

Week 17 - Perspectives 2.jpgWeek 17 - Perspectives 5.jpgWeek 17 - Perspectives 6.jpg

I sometimes like to shoot unusual things (like garbage) in a way that makes for an interesting image (I hope)
Week 17 - Perspectives 1.jpg

Sometimes it's shooting through glass and the interplay of items and reflections
Week 17 - Perspectives 3.jpg

Sometimes it's trying to find an unexpected composition
Week 17 - Perspectives 4.jpg

And sometimes it's all in the processing (like a multiple exposure)
Week 17 - Perspectives 7.jpg

Nice set Bill

The pigeon gets my vote :)

Great set :)

I like your chosen image, it has mood, and the composition with the leading lines and the symmetry works really well. I really like the tulip shot too though, with the 3 distinct layers of colour.

Lots of excellent shots there: particularly like the flora and fauna in your snappers set and nice macro work with morning rituals.
