Hi All

Thought I'd head up to Haytor tonight and try again to take some back lit shots. But I always end up disapointed with my results. :(
Any of you pro's able to give me some tips or point me at some tutorials?
The shot below is the best I acheived this evening.

Thanks in advance.

You could try a graduated filter to darken the sky whilst retaining foreground detail.

Yep, grad filter or two exposures blending in PS.

Thanks guys, I added a graduated filter in Adobe Bridge, but now I look at it I think its a bit dark?! Need to play some more. Processed a couple of others with a graduated filter in Bridge.

Not sure about the colour on this one?

I guess I'm just going to have to spend "more" money on some proper filters! :) The wife will go bonkers!

C&C VERY welcome.

Barney, what you can do in #1 is use the lasso crop in PS and select the dark bit with a 70 pixel feather. Then open up a curve adjustment and bring the top up a little to balance it. (Thanks, Alib!)

The second shot is lovely! Not so keen on the road though.

To be honest though, it looks fine as it is now. :)
