Anyone using this? We currently use Veeam but with our license renewal coming up shortly I thought I would look at DPM again.

Has anyone used the 2016 version in an off-site replication and DR solution?

No.
All the hipster sysadmins seem to love Veam though.

Is there are trial license you can use to spike it in a lab?

We've got licensing for it and a fully redundant virtual environment to test it out on, but I was simply curious if anyone else was using it before I start gazing at Technet for weeks on end :p

Can't really fault Veeam too much, its one of the better ones to be fair (unless you have a low CPU spec and want a lot of compression or large merges).

Don't think I'm a hipster though, I don't own any Apple products any more..

I’ve personally got no issues with Veeam, although performance of Server 2016 backups is somewhat poor (just upgraded veeam so fingers-crossed we’re sorted and won’t have so many stuck snapshots!)

Just investigating alternatives and financial implications as we all have to do when renewal time strikes
