I've got a day out shooting owls and other birds of prey in mid June and need to check my equipment before the day, in case I need to rent anything specific.
Kit so far is as follows:
Nikon D200 with:
Nikon 70-300 VR
Nikon 18-200VR
Nikon 50mm f1.8
Sigma 10-20 (doubt I'll need it for this)
This is my first outing to an owl rescue / sanctuary so unsure how close I can get to them. In case anyone has been before and can offer specific advise its Stonham Barns in Suffolk.
I was considering renting a Nikon 300mm f4 but I think the fixed focal length will really restrict me. Will the 70-300 VR suffice and should I be looking at fast 17-55 instead perhaps?
Any other tips?
