I have a Nikon SB800, which I don't use that often. Last night went to use it and found it to be dead. :( I borrowed another set of batteries just in case the ones that were in it had discharged. Repeatedly pressing the power button with the new batteries the menu came on for a fraction of a second and then nothing. :(

Is there anything I can do to revive it? Does anyone know of anybody who repairs them? If it can be repaired is it an economical thing to do?

I've never heard of flashes being repaired, but comments welcome.
 
have you tried cleaning the contacts, maybe the springs have compressed over time from being left with batteries in it..

Following your suggestions, though they didn't look dirty, I've tried cleaning the contacts. No success though. :(

The contacts seemed to still have a bit of spring in them, but I tried to bend them a bit, again with no success sadly. :(


Any other ideas from anyone? :shrug:
