Dead Gannets on the Turnberry beach

Im not sure if this is a common sight but when I was walking along the beach today there was around 5 or 6 dead in a few hundred yard walk.
Having never been in areas where Gannets im not sure if this is quite common.

I had two at Lendalfoot, further down the coast last week and a couple were reported further north in the county.
I don't see that as unusual as i've came across plenty more gull carcasses, there was a real glut of guillemot deaths a few years ago.
