I sold all of my camera kit earlier in the year after not using it enough to justify having it all and, having taken not much interest in photography for a while I'm getting the urge to get a bit more out of it than my cameraphone, so I'm looking at a decent compact.
I've always been attracted to the G series and the new G16 seems like a decent bit of kit for my needs but I've started to see a few comments that image quality isn't really there. Comments like this and the lack of on-board GPS are slight niggles, so I'm looking for an alternative at a comparable price point, any suggestions on what to look at? The on-board GPS isn't a must.
