Decent Compact Digital Camera

Hey guys,

My lady is currently looking for a pocket digital camera. Her budget is £100-£130.

If I'm honest I don't really know much about these kind of cameras. One that has been recommended is the Nikon S3000:

I guess the VR will be handy and 12 MP is pretty good for £80. But if anyone else has any better recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance

Can't suggest any particular camera, but there is loads of info on the Net on best compact cameras, eg -

As the sensor is going to be small in any compact, lots of megapixels is not necessarily a good thing.

I have a couple of good compacts, the best of which is an Olympus FE340 8 megapixel which produces very good results printed up to 10x8. HTH

Theres a few on offer in places like Asda for around the £60-£70 mark, the fuji looks quite good but I haven't tried it, I have an old Nikon coolpix 4500 which isn't bad and should be blown away by a much newer model.
