Hi all. Looking at getting my dad something similar to a go-pro for recording his mountain bike adventures for xmas.

What are the options out there? Waterproof and a decent battery life are musts.

Cheers

SJ4000 30m waterproof, good batter life and additional batteries are about £3

Xiaomi Yi is very good. But you need to factor in a waterproof case as it doesn't come with one.

Considering the camera is £60 or so though, that's an acceptable trade-off.

The camera is 45 quid and the case is about 8 quid. Handlebar clamp is 2.50.

I think it is a case of SJCAM4000 vs Xiaomi Yi, what do you guys think?

I had a sj cam and to be honest wasn't impressed and sold it quite quickly. There I was a very bad rolling shutter effect

Ended up getting a garmin Virb for not a lot more and it's much much better

Just ordered a gitup git2 from gearbest, £67 in "grey weekend" deal, usually around £100. None in stock anywhere until Dec 4th though after next production run. Had a Xiaomi yi but sent it back as the audio was terrible, has been sorted in more recent firmwares but hard to know what you are going to get.
Found this before I decided to buy it -
