decided on camera just need lens advice

right have decided on upgrading from compact to a DSLR and have decided on the Canon 60D just unsure on which lens option is the best alrounder till i can afford to build a lens collection or decide what style to concentrate on
Options are
18-55 f/3.5-5.6
17-85 f/4-5.6
18-135 f/3.5-5.6

any advice would be gratefully appreciated

I have owned all 3 and I still have the 18-135. Nuff said ?

The '18-55 is' is fantastic value and not too shabby, the 17-85 is heavier and feels more substantial and is generally a good lens but the extra reach of the 18-135 and lighter weight just makes more sense and because its a newer design the image stabilistaion on the 18-135 is improved too.

If you've any interest in shooting stuff that's far away then I'd highly recommend the 55-250.

18-135mm seems to be the best option as a cheap all rounder.....but I bet you'll be wanting to invest more in a higher quality lens sooner than you think....start saving!

Buy both used. The 18-55mm + 55-200mm, always popping up in the classified section.
