decimal points on petrol

Mine too, very useful if there's three of us going to a meeting as I never have to drive ;). Weighs in at 1325kg or so, which while lighter than a lot of other cars of a similar age compares unfavourably with my four seater saloon from 1968 at 720kg .

Even my 5 seater hatch from the 80s I used to have was 1150kg or so.

Lightest car I've had was a Triumph Vitesse. Think it was 900kg ish.

I can see their reasoning, but as I said earlier,
The only garage that does it around here ( that I am aware of)
is our local independent

It still weighs roughly 1400KG though which is a fat git by my standards. .

I hope your car never heard that
They have a habit of getting their own back. :D

The reason it,s .9 of a pence is because the petrol companies only pay tax and VAT on a full 1p

Ah sorted then, petrol reduced to 0.9p / litre and everyone's happy :D

:cautious:

If that was the reason then everything would be priced the same way....

my understanding of vat is if it is below 0.5p you round down if it is .5p and above you round it up

65 MPG?!

What car's that?

I regularly get 40mpg from my 11 y/o Audi A4
But then I commute 60 miles a day (heavy motorway miles) and I drive like a granny.
My company Director pays my petrol in cash each week (I give him the receipt, he gives me the cash), but I top off the tank when it gets to just over a 1/4 tank which keeps a fill at around 60 quid from Asda.
