Decision on cheap Nikon zoom between 50 and 300mm!

After my earlier investigations as to a new lens i have narrowed it down to the following....

Nikon 55-200mm VR

NIkon 70-300 G

Sigma 70-300 APO DG with Macro

Am looking for a reasonable zoom for travel photography, some street work, and the odd sports event. Nikon 70-300 VR is obviously the perfect one but can't currently stomach the cost. Not sure whether to sacrifice a bit of zoom, or possible quality of photo!

All thoughts and suggestions are delightfully received! Cheap links even more so...
 
if you can't get the 70-300VR, and you're using DX, get the 55-200VR, that's the best one.
Even if you're using DX and has more money, I would still recommend you the 55-200VR (y)
