Hi All,

Trying to figure out which lens to go for next and could do with some help.

At the moment I have a 18-200 VR and a 50mm prime.

Lenses I like the look of are the Sigma 700-200 non OS and Sigma 10-20.

The 10-20 seems to make sense as Id cover a better range but the 70-200 just seems so sharp (but bulky).

If I got the 70-200 Id need to get rid of the 18-200 to help fund but also it probably wouldnt make sense keeping it as Id have a lot of the range with the 70-200.

So the choices are 70-200 and 50mm leaving nothing on the wider angles or 10-20, 50 & 18-200 to cover quite a nice range.

Could you pick up one of the Nikon 18 - something kit lenses to go along with the 70-200?

I imagine that you'd find yourself wanting wider than 50mm on quite a few occasions (could well be wrong on that, though).

Thanks for the reply. Could prob do the 18-55. But Im on a DX so something a bit wider than 18 would be good, also is the 70-200 that massive and heavy to lug around, main benefit of the 18-200 I find is the size/weight/range? 70-200 takes such nice pics though but its probably not exactly a carry around lens on hols etc. but the quality.
 
The Sigma 10-20mm is a really nice lens, you would not be disappointed with the results... provided you get a sharp one! It opens up a completely new side to your photography!

I found the 10-20mm Sigma, although a cracking lens, to be a bit daunting when I got one, as I was too inexperienced. I found I got much better results at 18mm (crop sensor), I would offer that as a word of warning.

Even now I don't go that wide, the widest I use is a 24mm f/2.8.
 
Thanks for all the advice and the link guys. Think I may keep my 18-200 for now and use it on my hols in Mexico. Then decide wether to move onto the 70-200 when I get back. Think the 18-200 will be more versatile and easier to store in a hotel safe.
