hi all
just bought a 7D and need a new card to get the most out of it and keep my old sandisk card in my sturdy 40D as a backup/2nd camera

so i'm a yorkshire man and after a bargain
I've discounted duracell CF cards and normally shop with lexar or sandisk
but these have caught my eye

these two seem liks decent prices and speed
and what impresses me is that they openly advertise write speed...(unlike Duracell!!)
Delkin 16Gb Compact Flash Memory Card 700x
£42
105MB/s 67MB/s

Delkin 16Gb Compact Flash Memory Card 500x
£36
75MB/s 40MB/s

I've searched on the forums without success, does anyone have experience of using these cards? thanks

no-one then??
funnily enough, just checked today and the £42 source is gone...the cheapest there is now £54 and £40 respectively..

so no-one is commenting on this topic or has any sage and wordly wisdom regarding Delkin devices?
cheers

okay so no-one wanted to help :(

so here are the results
tests are very basic, through my integrated card reader
which won't support UDMA
Delkin Devices 16gb 700x card
rated at 105MB/s read, 76MB/s write
delkin_16gb.PNG

same tests/pc/etc
Sandisk 8Gb extreme rated at 30MB/s

writing to my 7D, the sandisk cleared the buffer in ~21 seconds and the Delkin in ~19 seconds which is very similar
so really only marginally quicker on the write test

Sorry I didn't see your post in time to reply Matt.

FWIW, I've been using a Delkin 4GB, 45 MB/S card in my 7D without any problems. It seems reasonably quick, obviously not in the same league as yours, but it does the job.

Thanks for posting your test results.

Hope you enjoy your 7D.

Chris

my source disappeared and then reappeared after I purchased
£44 quid in the end
looks to be marginally quicker than my sandisk 30MB/s which is fine
that's my benchmark and as long as they're reliable, that's okay with me.
just posted these up to add to the wealth of knowledge on these forums :)
cheers for the input gents.
