I have a Dell XPS 420 with 2x 320gb Samsung sata drives in, the boot drive started playing up a while back giving error messages, after a few goes I could get it to work.

It's been sat unused for a few weeks because of this, I intend to get it going, back all my stuff up to a 500gb external drive and replace the faulty drive, should I remove both of them and just put one 1TB drive in or replace the faulty one and leave the 320gb in.

as far as I know it's just SATA which drive would you recommend as a replacement, I have windows 7 to put on it as a clean install once I put the drive in

Thanks :)

if youre backing up to an external drive, no harm in ripping both out and replacing with one large if thats what you want to do.

or keep 1x 320 as a windows/programs drive and pop a 1/2tb in as a storage drive?
