Male and female beautiful and banded demoiselles all photographed on 13th May by the River Avon near Keynsham. The last one, the female banded had me gobsmacked as she was much paler than usual with the green colouration much reduced and reflecting the sunlight with a burnished gold. The gold extended into the wing filaments to make a stunning insect that I've barely captured here. All taken hand held with Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 with 2x TC on D7200.

Thanks again guys. Much appreciated.

Lovely shots, I can never get them in focus. What's your secret?

No secret. I use spot AF aimed at the eye(s) and take several shots. If you want to get the whole insect sharp get yourself parallel to it. I didn't quite manage that with the male banded.
