Hi,

I want to start doing some more location work with models, mainly fashion and nude work. Ideally i want to shoot in some old/derelict buildings.

I know that some of you do this already and was wondering how do you go about it? Do you try and find out who the owners of the building are and ask permission or do you just 'go for it' ?

Also anyone in Herts or surrounding areas know of good locations?

I don't know your area, but either approach can work. Some places your unlightly to find the owners of, others might be easier to track down.
If your taking models on a shoot I'd suggest your safer with permission, and I'd also suggest third party insurance (you might need it to get consent) but if anything were to go wrong at least you'd have some cover, and old building can be dangerous, it's not uncommon to find live wires, or deep holes in floors, not to menton the obvious dangers of rotting floors etc.

I would also like to know this, I know that in the Leeds area there must be abandoned/unused warehouses that I could use for the odd shoot but apart from the ones on sites like 28dayslater where people have to scale fences etc I cant find anywhere that lists them.

I wouldn't mind if it only 'looked' abandoned and was actually owned and the owner rented out the space.
