im looking at upgrading my phone as my contract is coming round to renewal.

at the moment ive got a HTC desire and i wish to stick with an android phone.


is there anything better than the desire HD out there?

Motorola atrix. Either way I look at it the Android phones are going to he pushing each other to the limit. I have the desire and love it. But its all about the dual core phones in the future.
 
Wait for the Galaxy S2 which is due out at the end of the month with a dual core proccessor.
Samsung use the super amoled screen which imho, is the best screen to date.
Or you could cross your fingers and hope that Motorola produce a 3G version of the Atrix for the european market but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Other manufacturers such as Sony and LG are also releasing dual core processor Android phones as well.

My main thoughts at the moment are that the dual core phones are not yet out. so ive got too options - wait..... and even then ill probably struggle to get a dual core phone on my contract (im only on £20 a month) Or upgrade now, get the best phone I can at the moment (would probably be a DesireHD) and when the new phones come out sell both my desire and the desire HD to fund the new phone.

I looked at the Desire HD in the vodafone shop, its HUGE!
 
Interesting thread as I'm coming to the end of my contact too and seriously considered the HD. Anything will be better than this bloody LG!
 
It's all going to be about the dual core phones soon. But, there is rumoured to be the first quad core phone by Aug this year with more to be rolled out in Autumn.
 
first thoughts are that its a monster of a phone only slightly bigger than the desire in length and width but im sure ill get used to it, but the bigger screen definetly helps with internet browsing.

got an absolute cracker of a deal at phones4u, originally went to orange shop who wanted me to either pay £150 for the phone on my current tariff Or upgrade to a £35 a month tariff. Phones4U kept me on my current tariff (£15 a month + £5 internet bolt on), knocked 10% of my monthly bill and gave me a HTC bluetooth headset for free (which will be on ebay soon enough). so I cant say fairer than that. as the bloke in the shop said you;ve pretty much got the most expensive phone on the market on pretty much the cheapest contract on the market :)

ive got the desire hd and love it. i was concerned about the screen as my last was AMOLED. but TBF i think its clearer and nicer to look at. i dont like the visible matrix on the AMOLED screens.
