Desperate Help Needed!

Hi everyone,

I had a rather unfortunate accident with my camera equipment not too long ago, my SB900 broke, D700 cracked and I think there may be something up with my 24-70 2.8! Anyway, it's being picked up to be assessed to see if I can get a replacement or if it can be repaired etc.

The problem now! Is that I need to get temporary replacement gear because i've got some freelance jobs coming up! Does anybody know of a good rental company? Or is there anyone here that could rent me theirs!? (I know that second one seems a bit unlikely to be honest!)

I've been looking on Calumet, but to get a D700 + 24-70 2.8 is so damn expensive and I dont think my clients will be able to, or want to pay for that! So i'm trying to find other alternatives...

If anyone can help that would be very much appreciated,

check to see if your insurance covers rental kit

I know lenses for hire are a good shout for lenses but dont know much about bodies/flashes
 
It may be an option to get D90/80 with some primes or tamron 17-50mm from ebay or here. It shouldn't be too bad, and you can get it all back once the d700 is sorted. You should really have a backup camera if you are serious about your business (also a good note to myself).
 
Hmm i'll need to check with that rental bit.. I am dead serious about this, however if I was to get a back up camera then I would get another D700 - but i'm not making enough money right now to buy that, let alone a D90. Thats something ill be considering next year when I hopefully begin to do weddings.

I guess one should always expect the unexpected!!
