Hi to all,
I am in need of feeding my addiction of converting all my old slides and photos to digital, but having problems with deterioration of slides. the ones I am having most problems with seem to be AGFAcolor. the surface breakdown is extreme in some cases.

I have over the past 5 years scanned in around 7000 photos & 5500 slides, but have really only experienced problems with my husbands photos from 60's & 70's processed in NZ.

Many years ago there was a substance/chemical on the market to wipe over slides that were diry, but haven't been able to track this down either....any suggestions welcome.

I looked into this a while back with the intention of digitising some of my own slide collection.
PEC (manufacturer of sensor cleaning gear) advocate their PEC pads and a fluid called PEC 12

I haven't got around to doing this yet so can't vouch for its effectiveness.

thanks for that Bob.....I will let you know if I have any luck with this...cheers Joyce
