Hi

I've just been given a Canon 35mm slr and have been messing around and now I'm not sure what to do. I got film developed and got a CD of prints, checked them over at home and got some prints off the CD,now these are much better than off my old digital compact but if I managed to take anything half decent would I get a better print off the negative,

in short: Yes!

CD's are usually poor quality. If you've got some you really like and want printing larger than 7x5 then from the negatives is much better, even though it's pricier.

I thought that was the case so might do that when I've stopped taking out of focus shots of my feet,face walls or basically wherever the camera is pointing when I accidently press the shutter
