Developing your own mobile App

I've got a business idea that I would like to develop into a Mobile App. Basically, it's a school educational App - can't reveal too much more detail at present.

Has anyone made their own App and at present have it on the Apple, Android, Blackberry etc. market? I have very limited technical skill in coding this App, but have fully developed the plans and the design. This means at present I'm a little stumped on getting this App of the design sheets and into a working prototype. Unfortunately, funds are limited at present.

Any advise would be invaluable, thanks :thumbs:
 
Realistically, if you can't do it yourself, that means paying someone to develop it. Even if you were to develop it yourself, there are costs involved in downloading the software/SDK to develop it from Apple themselves.

You could always try and find a developer that's willing to do it on a profit share scheme, but I'd expect some cynicism as I'm sure these developers get these kind of offers fairly regularly

If you know anything about web-apps this might be a better/cheaper route to take at the expense of not getting your app in the app-market.

Basically create a website specially coded for small screen sizes. Benefit is that you only create one site, not three or four apps (apple, android, blackberry, palm) etc.

Thanks guys. I believe I have found a gap in the market and would like to exploit it. However, getting a developer onside without the guarantee of a profit or any financial reimbursement is going to be difficult.

I like the idea of developing a web-app. I currently design and produce websites as a freelance, so this would probably be more viable.
