Hi All,

Whilst taking pictures I got this image? Is this what I think it is or am I being silly?

I don't think it was mistake, I would say it's rather spot on. Heh

Wow can't believe I have got a photo of it from my back garden! I used the below settings, what could I improve to get a better image with more colour?

Exposure
Aperture: F/2.8
Shutter Speed: 18.5s
Exposure Mode: Manual
Exposure Comp.: 0EV
Exposure Tuning:
Metering: Spot
ISO Sensitivity: ISO 2500

Image Settings
White Balance: Auto, 0, 0
Color Space: sRGB
High ISO NR: ON (Normal)
Long Exposure NR: OFF
Active D-Lighting: Auto
Image Authentication:
Vignette Control:
Auto Distortion Control:

and bear in mind the image will end up being noisy, and there's pretty much nothing you can do about that as you're pushing the camera to it's limits with the light that's available.

If you have a foreground interest it's worth doing two exposures, one high iso for the milky way and one low iso long exposure for the foreground and then combine them in photoshop.

When showing an image select a larger size in the BB code it easier to see the shot
