No
And it was complete crap :shake:

The lighting was horrendous and i only had my flash on my camera so i've got lots of photoshopping to do to make them look half decent, people didn't want their photo taken (even though they had probably taken 6 hours to get ready) it was pouring with rain and they wanted photos of the limo arriving, even though the limo had dropped the guests off without telling anyone so had to chase it in the rain, and got a bloody awful photo with rain spots on the lens, photoshop won't help that one i don't think.

Really annoyed, they wanted photos of the evening but one end of the hall was exactly the same as the other and nobody was doing anything, also everyone tutted when the flash went off.

So all in all a bad night

Sounds terrible, also, sounds like the people were terrible too.

Some time event work can be a nightmare. Last New Year my wife was working so I took up an offer to shoot at a local venue. I've shot there before and it's been great but this time it was dreadful. New Year's Eve and everyone was stone cold sober and at 12:01am they were leaving in droves

Sounds like a combination of the above and going in underprepared with the wrong kit and the wrong attitude.

I wouldn't say i went in with the wrong attitude, i was there raring to take lots of photos, but just nothing to take them ov.

The kit i had is the only kit i have, they knew i wasn't professional so don't know what they thought they were going to get really.

See thats exactly the attitude I mean, it's all there fault, you were raring to go but nobody wanted there pictures taken.

Personally I would never have taken and indoor portrait job like this without a decent external flash, you were never going to be able to deliver great results with the on board job an advance visit to the venue would have told you this and saved you wasting an evening.

If you want to make money selling people pictures you've got to convince them they want them even when they don't, you need to make them want there picture taking it's not always going to be shooting fish in a barrell at a kids party.
