as title, I know they make the mk2 but was it's predecessor also available as IS
to many versions of the 70-200L range for my old memory cells :lol:
Reason I ask is I am on the hunt to purchase a used 70-200 L
but which one :shrug:
 
As for which one.... I like the F/4 non-is (like I have up for potential trade but don't really want to sell). I know the F/4 IS is sharper, but I find this sharp enough. Here is a 100% crop at 200mm F/4

the 70-200 f4 poor person model is quite cheap new around 450 as a grey
I think this poor persons version would be ample for my limited abilities

Well it certainly is for my very limited ability apart from things very far away... hence looking for a 100-400 lol although a 7D is better for that than a 5D. It takes a 1.4x quite well too.
 
I have a bigma for far away shots and a 1.4x and 2 x converter so I can see that there is no yank flag on the moon
I find the bigma a slow lens though
 
lol I'm sure there isn't....

I've been thinking about the Sigma 150-500mm but that's slow too.

A lot of people rate the 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II as taking a 2x teleconverter very well.... shame it's such a bloody expensive lens! Might allow you to sell the bigma though.
 
I believe the 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II is a belter of a lens
my bigma is the 50-500 non os
I only bought it as I have a small willy

Yeah that's fair enough. I've been looking at the 200-500mm F/2.8 Sigma for just that reason.
