Difference between 55-250mm IS Zoom and MkII lens?

I'm looking at buying the Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS lens. Can someone tell me the difference between the 55-250mm IS Zoom Lens and the 55-250mm IS MkII Lens. They're both on the Jessops website, with a £30 difference, yet the specs look exactly the same.

the difference apparently is purely cosmetic to reduce mass production costs

Correct, it's purely cosmetic.

Which shows how much we are being ripped off when we are charged far more for the mk2!

indeed when the only changes are so canon can make it cheaper than the mk 1
and charge us more
I checked them out before I bought one and went for the mk1 [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] to paying extra for a more cheaply made lens
