differences in image quality. Indoors and out

Hi, I have just started a photography course and am unable to see the samll focusing detail differences when taking pictures indoors compared to ouside. Can Anyone help, I am at a loss.

I have describe the detail in the picture quality when taking pictures indoors campared to outside. Apart from there seem to be more shadows and the contrast is't as good I can't see any other differnces

Not fully sure on what you mean, but could it be that there is less light indoors hence the camera is using a higher ISO so there will be more noise in the photo.
