In the book Extreme Close up Photography and Focus Stacking, Julian Cremona suggests using polystyrene boxes to put around plants to get better plants
E.g. something

He says that they can be got hold easily from greengrocers but I have never seen them. Has anyone else got of them?
The problem with these, is that they are quite bulky, has anyone got a better idea?
 
Only ever seen them at fishmongers, and they don't want to let them go as their supplier wants them back to reuse for more fish.
