Digital 8 tape movie to PC - HOW ?

Hi all
I have a pretty old now - Sony camcorder that uses digital 8 tape and we had used it 6 years ago to film certain parts of our wedding day. I would love to get this film onto my pc but cant figure out how to do it ?
 
Hi, I had a Digital 8 handycam (and I think they still do the business!) and used to be able to connect it up to the PC via firewire cable.
Once the PC recognises the device, you can use Windows Movie Maker (which is, oddily missing from Windows 7 :shrug:) to transfer movie into, then edit and save in any file format you wish (high DVD quality to low quality suitable for emailing).
 
I need to get a few D8 tapes into computer soon. What model camcorder do you have that has a Firewire interface?
