digital frame tech question

I think Santa's brought me a digital photo frame. 9" model (Sony).
"WVGA resolution (800x480 pixels) gives you sharp details photo displays in a wide screen (15:9) aspect ratio."

Seems common sense but... just to be sure
For best display on this should I resize pix to 800X480 and is 72DPI enough for best image ?

I'd like to have pix ready to pop on on frame so that I can impress relatives coming round for Xmas dinner.

(Dear wife won't let me open and try some test pixs to check best settings for saving pix.)

Had a quick look, but couldn't see anything about best size to load. Just said frame will resize for optimum viewing.
